Warnings & Glad Tidings

The similitude of mine and of that with which Allah sent me is like that of a man who came to some people and said: "I have seen with my own eyes the enemy forces, and I am a plain warner (to you) so save yourself, save yourself!" A group of them obeyed him and went out at night, slowly and stealthily and were safe, while another group did not believe him and thus the army took them in the morning and destroyed them. And that is the similitude of the one who obeyed me, followed with which I had been sent and the similitude of the other is of one who disobeyed and belied me and the Truth with which I have been sent.
Buhari, Riqaq 26; Muslim, Fadail 15, 2283

In general, we are more inclined to think short term. And perhaps this is just another mystery in this world of tests and trials. Ah, if we only knew that our death is so close, we would have never fought with each other, never acted selfishly and never followed the paths of evil.

The hadith above reminded me the following ayat:

18:6. Perhaps, you would torment your soul with grief over their footsteps if they do not believe in this message (Quran)!

Indeed, Rasulullah (pbuh) accomplished his mission thoroughly...his mission of giving warnings and glad tidings to us.

May Allah make us among those who follow the path of Rasulullah (pbuh).
